Mrs. Jacobs’ interesting motive for saving the watersheds was a tragedy that happened to her years ago. When she was younger, she was waterskiing in the Chesapeake Bay. Since she was horrible at waterskiing, she fell off and ended up in the bay. The next day, she noticed rashes all over her body due to the ”unsanitary water”. Ever since then, Mary J. Jacobs has been the leading activist dedicated to saving the bay from poor water quality.
